Canadian Madonna

by thriftyfashionista on February 15, 2010

This was going to be a post about how sad I was about missing most of the fashion week activities…but I still have a couple days to catch a show with my roommate and I’ve been living vicariously through my Intro to Fashion Industry classmates. In the meantime I celebrated my little sisters 15th birthday with her and began the transition into a happy new living situation (Welcome Adam and Liz Lemon the cat!)

I spent the better part of last week sick with a cold and the rest of the week just plain cold. Friday I managed to botch a perfectly good outfit by slipping on ice and not only ripping a hole in my jeans but scraping my knee and bleeding all over them…then  going to class. I must admit I have been putting a little extra thought into my outfits since starting at FIT – although I have noticed that most of the guys at school are dressed better then the girls. It still feels good to put in the effort for myself.

Here are some pictures from a performance I did at the Delancy with Terminal City a couple of weeks ago. Adam said I look like a Canadian Madonna -  I can’t say that’s a bad thing though.

Here is a video of one of the covers I do during the show “Real Love” by Mary J Blige.
